Why you'll love this trip
  • Walk the picturesque waterways and cobbled streets of Bruges, maybe visit a local brewery and try one of the iconic regional beers.
  • Explore the many romantic districts and hidden alleyways of Paris, discover the history and culture of this beloved city at the many museums and galleries and tick the Eiffel Tower off your bucket list in your free time.
  • From the arts district and museums to the unmatched cafe culture and leafy parks, Amsterdam has it all. Maybe grab a bike and see the city the way the locals do.
  • Find the best Belgium fries in Brussels and wander the incredible façade of the Grand Palace as you get lost in the quaint city streets.
  • Explore at your own pace, with plenty of free time to see the bits you want to see! Your local leader will be on hand to help you make the most of your time in each city with the best recommendations and tips.
  • By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Intrepid Foundation partner, Eden Reforestation Projects. Donations help them provide local employment opportunities and tackle climate change one tree at a time as they restore forests across 10 different countries.

Is this trip right for you?
  • This trip is made for travellers who value their independence but also want the benefit of a local leader and a group of like-minded travellers. The itinerary has a mix of included activities and free time when your leader will offer suggestions. Please budget spending money for optional activities you want to partake in.
  • As accommodation on this trip is twin-share, solo travellers will share a room with other travellers of the same gender. This trip is a great opportunity to get to know other like-minded people, so embrace it! A single supplement is not available on this trip. Space is at a premium in Europe and your hotel is no exception. Rooms are often small, but usually the central location makes up for that. For those travelling as a duo, hotels in Europe often don't have double beds, but rather two single beds that can be pushed together. In some cases, bathroom facilities will be shared rather than ensuite.
  • Don’t let the heat keep you from exploring the world! Summer temperatures can be very high in the regions visited (over 40°C). Please keep in mind that many European hotel rooms are not equipped with air conditioning. Please carefully consider the time of the year you wish to travel and your suitability to that season.
  • The primary means of transportation on this trip is by train. Trains are a fast way to cross long distances, allowing you to avoid traffic jams and arrive right into the city centre. They are comfortable and all have toilets, however they can get busy. Please note that you'll have to carry your own luggage on and off the train, so make sure it doesn’t exceed our weight and size recommendations. You can find specifics under ‘Packing’ in the Essential Trip Information.
  • The best way to experience a city is by doing as the locals do – and in this case that means using public transport such as trams, buses or metro at some locations. It’s better for the environment and you’ll get an authentic look at daily life; just be aware you may find yours.
